My family catches a lot of fish throughout the year. Mostly, we catch and release, but we do love to eat perch and walleye. This is our go-to fish batter!
- 1/4 c. cornstarch
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp/ salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 c. beer
- In a large bowl, combine cornstarch, flour, baking powder, pepper and salt.
- Make a well in the middle of dry ingredients, add egg and beer.
- Mix well.
- Add fish, beef or other protein a few pieces at a time to coat. Then fry in hot oil.
If batter is too thick, add more beer until it reaches the desired consistency.
